Newark, California (August 18, 2022) – 70-year-old Norma Hall of Fremont has been identified as the woman killed in a car accident on Tuesday night in Newark, according to a California Highway Patrol dispatch.

The accident occurred a while after 9:09 p.m. on August 16, on Highway 84, east of the Newark Boulevard onramp.

Per the report, multiple cars crashed for reasons yet to be determined. 

Alameda County Fire Department firefighters and medics arrived at the scene to attend to Norma who sustained critical injuries as a result of the accident. Efforts to perform CPR on the woman were futile and she was declared dead at the scene.

No additional information regarding this collision was released.

An investigation is underway.

Newark, California (August 17, 2022) – One person died in a two-vehicle collision that took place Tuesday night in Newark.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the Highway 84 crash occurred at around 9:10 p.m. near the Newark Boulevard on-ramp.

The crash involved a red Ford Focus and a silver Honda.

Police and Alameda County firefighters responded to the scene and found a person with severe injuries. The firefighters performed CPR on the patient, but the party was pronounced dead at the scene.

At least two traffic lanes remained blocked following the collision.
