Moreno Valley, CA – A crash between a vehicle and a motorcycle at an intersection in Moreno Valley on Monday night left a 25-year-old woman dead, the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department reported.
Deputies were dispatched at around 9:10 p.m. January 13, to the accident in the area of Moreno Beach and Auto Mall drives.
A preliminary investigation reveals that the woman was riding a motorcycle that collided with a car near the intersection. The circumstances under which the two vehicles crashed were not immediately established.
The Riverside County Sheriff’s Department and firefighters responded to the scene and the motorcyclist was rushed to a hospital in critical condition.
The victim was pronounced deceased at the hospital. She was identified as 25-year-old Marvonna Vaxter of Moreno Valley.
An occupant of the car was seen fleeing the area on foot. The Sheriff’s deputies located the person and arrested them on suspicion of being in possession of controlled substance for sale and a violation of probation.
Authorities have not released the identity of the car’s driver.
