Mojave, CA – One person was killed in a two-vehicle crash on State Route 14 in Mojave late Monday afternoon, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The collision occurred on State Route 14 at Exit 167 along SR-58 at approximately 5:07 p.m.
CHP officials said the deadly collision involved two vehicles that were merging in the area. Preliminary investigation revealed that a white Mazda was traveling southbound when it T-boned a Toyota Corolla that was exiting from the off-ramp.
One male occupant was found unconscious at the scene and was later confirmed dead. No additional information regarding other injuries or possible arrests has been released.
Emergency responders, including Kern County Fire Department personnel and CHP officers, responded to the scene. Authorities also requested lane closures to manage the situation and ensure safety.
The crash caused traffic delays in the area surrounding the SR-14 and SR-58 interchange as crews worked to clear the wreckage.
The incident remains under investigation by the California Highway Patrol.
