Police said Knapp was trying to walk east across 35th Avenue in a crosswalk against the light when he was hit by a northbound car

Phoenix, AZ.- The pedestrian who was killed in a hit-and-run collision in West Phoenix on Sunday night has been identified.
According to the Phoenix Police Department, Mark Joseph Knapp, 45, was the victim of the crash that took place near 35th Avenue and Roosevelt Street shortly after 9:42 p.m. November 9.
Police said Knapp was trying to walk east across 35th Avenue in a crosswalk against the light when he was hit by a northbound car.
Knapp was rushed to a hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
The involved vehicle was found abandoned north of the intersection.
The Phoenix Police Department is searching for the hit-and-run motorist.
