Woman Killed in Marion County Collision on NE 36th Avenue Road
Marion County, FL – A 40-year-old woman died in a rear-end collision that happened Sunday afternoon after a driver reportedly failed to stop at a stop sign in Marion County.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the incident took place on northbound NE 36th Avenue Road on March 1.
Authorities said the woman was driving her car northbound when she stopped at a stop sign at an intersection.
Another driver traveling behind her failed to stop at the same stop sign and rear-ended the woman’s car.
The force of the impact sent the first vehicle across the intersection, where it overturned at the middle of the intersection.
Emergency personnel responded and transported the woman to the hospital, where she later died from her injuries.
The driver and passenger of the other car, both in their 60s, were also hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries.
An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
