Motorcyclist Hurt after Crashing into Parking Lot Gate on Jetty Road in Mission Beach
San Diego, California (September 4, 2023) – A man was injured in a motorcycle crash on Sunday afternoon in the Mission Beach area of San Diego.
The accident was reported around 2:30 p.m. at 2600 N Jetty Road, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The 21-year-old man was riding a 2008 Honda CBR 600 motorcycle westbound at a high rate of speed when he failed to notice a closed parking lot gate and crashed into it.
The man suffered major injuries including a fractured femur and was transported to the hospital for treatment.
Police say DUI was not suspected to be a factor in the accident.
An investigation into the single-motorcycle accident is underway.
