According to the report, at least two semi-trucks were involved in the incident. Details on what led up to the accident were not immediately released.
At least one of the big rigs overturned and caught fire following the accident.
One person was declared deceased at the scene. Another party was flown to Loma Linda University Medical Center for treatement of unspecified injuries.
Both sides of Highway 247 were shut down following the incident.
