At around 9:47 a.m. September 13, authorities were called to the scene of the collision in the 1668 block of E. Vernon Avenue near Long Beach Boulevard.
Los Angeles, CA – A pedestrian was struck and killed by a train on Sunday morning in the Central-Alameda area of Los Angeles on Sunday morning, according to a report by the Los Angeles Police Department.
At around 9:47 a.m. September 13, authorities were called to the scene of the collision in the 1668 block of E. Vernon Avenue near Long Beach Boulevard.
According to the investigators, a man was fatally hit by a Metro A (Blue) Line train on the tracks under unclear circumstances.
LAFD firefighters and paramedics immediately responded to the scene and located the pedestrian.
The victim was declared deceased at the scene of the accident. He has since been identified as 35-year-old Corry Hill by the Los Angeles County medical examiner’s office.
No other injuries were reported in the incident.
No additional details on the accident were immediately available.
The crash is under investigation.
