Long Beach, CA – A pedestrian died two days after he was struck by a Long Beach Transit Bus last week, the Long Beach Police Department reported.

The accident transpired around 1:05 p.m. on July 21, 2026, in the 400 block of Golden Shore.

According to LBPD, a man was crossing the street when he was hit by the bus, which was making a left turn onto an access road.

The pedestrian sustained major injuries in the crash. Good Samaritans rendered aid to the victim before Long Beach police and firefighters responded.

The pedestrian was transported by firefighters to a local hospital in critical condition. The man died from his injuries two days later.

The bus driver stopped and cooperated with authorities. Investigators said impairment, distracted driving, and speed did not appear to be contributing factors.
