Long Beach, CA – Man in Wheelchair Hit and Critically Injured by Pickup Truck on Locust Avenue

Long Beach, CA – A man in a wheelchair was hospitalized with critical injuries after being struck by a vehicle Monday night in Long Beach, authorities reported.

The incident was reported around 9:50 p.m. on the 3700 block of Locust Avenue near Bixby Road.

Long Beach police officers and firefighters responded to the scene after being informed about a pedestrian collision.

The responders found a man with critical injuries. The firefighters transported the victim to the hospital, where he was listed in critical but stable condition.

A preliminary investigation revealed that the man was crossing the street outside of a crosswalk in a wheelchair when he was hit by a pickup truck.

The driver stopped and cooperated with authorities.
