Lancaster, CA – A man was hit and killed by a Metrolink train in Lancaster on Tuesday evening.
39-year-old David Santes, according to the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner, died in the incident that took place in the 42900 block of North Sierra Highway shortly before 8:25 p.m. on August 18.
The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department reported that Santes was apparently picking up somethong from the tracks when he was hit by the train.
Deputies and the Los Angeles County Fire Department arrived at the scene shortly after and attempted life-saving measures on the victim.
Despite their efforts, Santes succumbed to his injuries at the scene.
The cause of the accident is under investigation by the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
