Sylmar, CA. – Julio Cesar Silva, 55, has been identified as the pedestrian who was hit by a car on Wednesday afternoon in Sylmar.
According to the California Highway Patrol (CHP) Newhall Area Office, the accident happened on the southbound 5 Freeway near the 14 Freeway at around 3 p.m.
Silva was walking in the area and was struck by a big rig.
The man landed on the shoulder and was pronounced dead at the scene by the Los Angeles County Fire Department, who responded to the incident.
More details about the accident were not released.
