According to the CHP, a 17-year-old male from Valley Springs, was driving a 2010 BMW 335i sedan eastbound on Highway 26 when he crossed into the path of oncoming traffic and collided with an oncoming 2021 Toyota RAV4 SUV driven by Jessica Hernandez, 25, also of Valley Springs

Valley Springs, CA. – Jessica Hernandez, 25, of Valley Springs, was injured in a deadly collision that took place in Valley Springs on Wednesday afternoon, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The incident took place on Highway 26, east of Farris Drive at about 4:30 p.m. May 7.
According to the CHP, a 17-year-old male from Valley Springs, was driving a 2010 BMW 335i sedan eastbound on Highway 26 when he crossed into the path of oncoming traffic and collided with an oncoming 2021 Toyota RAV4 SUV driven by Jessica Hernandez, 25, also of Valley Springs.
The SUV was then rear-ended by a 2017 Subaru Legacy sedan driven by Molly Bauer, 22, of Angels Camp.
The operator of the BMW and a 14-year-old riding in the SUV, were both airlifted to a hospital with major injuries.
The BMW driver was later pronounced deceased at the hospital.
Hernandez was taken to the hospital with moderate injuries.
Alcohol is not suspected to have played a role in the accident.
An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
