Valley Springs, CA. – A Jamestown woman was killed in a car crash on Monday evening in Valley Springs area of Calaveras County.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident happened around 7:12 p.m. on Baldwin Street south of Highway 26.

63-year-old Brian Johnson was driving a Ford sedan eastbound on Baldwin Street from the Good Samaritan Church parking lot when he collided with a northbound Honda sedan driven by 53-year-old Terry Vanoverloop of Jamestown.

The impact caused Vanoverloop’s sedan to overturn onto the east shoulder, ejecting Vanoverloop, who was not wearing a seatbelt.

Vanoverloop was killed in the accident.

The conditions of the other occupants of the vehicles were not disclosed.

An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
