Javier Lopez Mila, Tree Trimmer, Dies in Electrocution Accident in Beverlywood

Authorities Identify 49-Year-Old Tree Trimmer Killed in Beverlywood Electrocution Accident

, CA. – Authorities have identified the tree trimmer who was killed Wednesday in a suspected electrocution accident in the Beverlywood area.

The Department of Medical Examiner said the victim was 49-year-old Javier Lopez Mila.

Firefighters were called around 1:30 p.m. to the 9300 block of West Kirkside Road, just south of Pico Boulevard, after reports of a worker suspended in the air below high-voltage power lines.

According to the Los Angeles Fire Department, Lopez Mila was found hanging above the ground and beneath the live wires.

Power in the area was shut down by the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power to allow crews to safely reach him.

Mila was pronounced dead at the scene.

Officials believe the incident was the result of an accidental electrocution.

LAPD is investigating the incident.
