Electric Scooter Crash at Indio Intersection Sends Rider to Hospital
Indio, CA – An electric scooter was airlifted to the hospital after being struck by a vehicle Monday evening near an intersection in Indio.
According to police, the incident happened around 8:30 p.m. on July 13, 2026, near Chandis Way and Golf Center Parkway.
A person riding an electric scooter collided with a Honda CR-V and got trapped underneath it.
Responding firefighters used specialized airbags to raise the vehicle and free the rider.
The patient was taken to a local trauma center by air ambulance.
The driver of the car remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators.
Details about the manner and cause of the crash were not immediately available.
Authorities closed northbound Golf Center Parkway while they worked the scene.
