Cathedral City, CA. – 43-year-old William Frank Rodriguez of Palm Springs was arrested and booked into jail on suspicion of a hit-and-run accident that killed a woman last year, as per a local news source.
60-year-old Christina Barrington of Cathedral City died in the collision that happened on October 11, 2024, at East Palm Canyon and Bankside drives.
Rodriguez was arrested Monday and booked into the Benoit Detention Center in Indio on suspicion of felony hit-and-run and homicide. He was being held without a bail warrant.
According to the Cathedral City Police Department, on the day of the accident, the suspect was driving a black 2021 Porsche when he hit Barrington, who was riding a scooter on East Palm Canyon near Bankside.
The driver then fled the scene.
Officers responded to the area and found Barrington and a small dog in the roadway.
The woman was rushed to the hospital, where she died from her injuries.
