The crash occurred at approximately 5:30 a.m. at Newland Street and Talbert Avenue.
Huntington Beach, CA – Authorities have identified the motorcyclist who died after crashing into an SUV in Huntington Beach on Wednesday morning, October 21, 2026.
The victim was identified as Brett Wayne Goucher, 33, of Westminster. Goucher was transported to a hospital after the collision, where he was later pronounced dead, according to authorities.
The crash occurred at approximately 5:30 a.m. at Newland Street and Talbert Avenue.
Huntington Beach Police Department said Goucher was riding a red Kawasaki motorcycle southbound on Newland Street, north of Talbert Avenue, when he struck the rear of a white Volkswagen Tiguan SUV.
The SUV driver, a 57-year-old man from Garden Grove, remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators. He was not injured, and police do not believe he was impaired. Investigators have not determined whether impairment was a factor for the motorcyclist.
The collision remains under investigation.
