Monterey, CA – The Monterey County Sheriff’s Office has identified a man killed in a head-on collision on Abbott Street in Monterey early Friday morning as 53-year-old Humberto Lopez Castrejon of Soledad.
The crash was reported around 1:07 a.m. on Abbott Street near Firestone Business Park, according to the California Highway Patrol.
A Toyota was northbound on Abbott Street when for unknown reasons it veered into the southbound lane and collided head-on with a 2016 Nissan.
Castrejon, who was driving the Nissan was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the Toyota suffered unknown injuries.
Impaired driving was not suspected in the crash.
