Hayward, CA – Authorities are conducting an investigation into an incident where a pedestrian was fatally hit by a vehicle in Hayward on Tuesday night.
According to the Hayward Police Department, the wreck took place in the 23000 block of Mission Boulevard at about 9:21 p.m. February 17.

Hayward police and firefighters were called to the scene shortly after to attend to the involved pedestrian.
The victim was then rushed to a hospital, where she was later pronounced deceased. Her identity was not released by the authorities pending identification and notification of the next-of-kin.
The driver was also not identified in the police report but authorities reported said she stayed at the scene and cooperated with law enforcement. Alcohol and drugs were not believed to have factored in the incident.
The Hayward Police Department officers gathered information and evidence at the scene and are still trying to figure out the factors of the crash.
