Goleta, CA – A motorcyclist was seriously injured after colliding with a car Thursday evening on Highway 101 west of Goleta, authorities reported.

A motorcyclist was reportedly traveling at a high rate of speed when they allegedly hit the back of a black Honda Pilot. The impact threw the rider from the bike into the ground.
CHP officers and the Santa Barbara County Fire Department responded to the scene.
The motorcyclist was taken to the hospital by ground ambulance for treatment of major injuries.
Authorities are investigating to determine the cause of the accident.
