Glenn County, CA – A pair of wheels came off a big rig and slammed into a van carrying six people near Willows in Glenn County on Monday morning.
According to the Willows Area California Highway Patrol, the incident took place on Interstate 5 on Monday, March 23.
Investigators reported that a big rig with trailer was heading south on I-5 when dual wheels came off the big rig’s trailer and drifted across the center divider. The wheels ended up in the northbound lanes, where they crashed into the side of a van traveling north.
Emergency responders were dispatched to the scene and they attended to the involved parties.
The six occupants of the involved van were treated for minor injuries. Their identities were not available in the CHP report.
Additional details on the big rig involved in the incident were not immediately available. The California Highway Patrol is conducting an investigation into the incident.
