Gilbert, AZ – At least one person was killed Thursday afternoon in a four-vehicle rollover crash on the Loop 202 Santan Freeway near Power Road, according to the Arizona Department of Public Safety.
The fatal collision occurred shortly after 3:00 p.m. Thursday on the westbound Loop 202 Santan Freeway near Power Road in Gilbert.
DPS said the crash involved four vehicles and resulted in a rollover. At least one person was pronounced deceased following the collision. Authorities have not released additional details about the victim or the circumstances that led to the crash.
The crash initially blocked all westbound lanes of the freeway before traffic was shifted to the right lane.
The eastbound lanes were not affected, although motorists traveling through the area were advised to expect delays while authorities responded to the scene.
The crash remains under investigation. Further information was not immediately available.
