Fresno County, CA – 2 Injured in Suspected DUI Accident near Temperance and Manning Avenues

Preliminary reports indicate that a 60-year-old man in a Hyundai Accent was traveling westbound on Manning Avenue when, for unknown reasons, he drifted into the path of oncoming traffic.

Fresno County, CA – Two drivers were injured in a suspected DUI collision at an intersection near Selma in Fresno County on Wednesday afternoon, according to California Highway Patrol logs.

The wreck was reported at about 3 p.m. April 29, near Temperance and Manning avenues.

Preliminary reports indicate that a 60-year-old man in a Hyundai Accent was traveling westbound on Manning Avenue when, for unknown reasons, he drifted into the path of oncoming traffic.

An eastbound 73-year-old man in a Ford Ranger tried to avoid a collision by moving onto the westbound side. However, the driver of the Hyundai also swerved back into the westbound lane, and the two vehicles crashed head-on.

CHP reported that the two drivers were hospitalized with minor-to-moderate injuries.

The driver of the Hyundai was suspected to have been driving while impaired. According to CHP, the driver was expected to be booked once he was released from the hospital.

Both vehicles had major damage in the accident and were towed from the scene.

The California Highway Patrol is still conducting an investigation to establish the exact circumstances of the crash.
