Fontana, CA — A 62-year-old Bloomington man died after his motorcycle collided with a tractor-trailer on Valley Boulevard in Fontana Wednesday night, according to the Fontana Police Department.
The fatal collision occurred at approximately 10:10 p.m. Wednesday, August 5, 2026, at the intersection of Valley Boulevard and Elm Avenue, police reported. Officers responded to the area following reports of a traffic collision involving a motorcycle and a tractor-trailer.
According to investigators, the motorcyclist, identified as 62-year-old Salvatore Ronzo of Bloomington, was traveling eastbound on Valley Boulevard when he collided with a tractor-trailer that was backing onto the roadway against a red traffic signal. Ronzo was ejected from the motorcycle during the collision.
After the initial crash, the motorcycle was struck by an uninvolved passing vehicle. The impact caused a fire that spread to the motorcyclist.
Ronzo was pronounced dead at the scene. No other injuries or arrests were reported in the information provided.
The circumstances surrounding the tractor-trailer’s movement onto Valley Boulevard and the subsequent collision remain part of the investigation.
