Didier Fuentes Killed, Ashley Peugh Injured in Four-Vehicle Crash on I-5 in Marion County

The collision occurred around 2:39 p.m. on October 26, 2025, when Oregon State Police responded to reports of a multi-vehicle crash on near the Highway 214 interchange.

Marion County, OR – One person was killed and another was injured following a four-vehicle accident on I-5 in Marion County on Sunday afternoon, authorities confirmed.

According to preliminary findings, a Chevrolet Silverado driven by Didier Lair Fuentes, 26, of Keizer, attempted to merge onto the southbound lanes from Highway 214.

The vehicle abruptly crossed lanes and entered the path of a Western Star commercial operated by Manmohan Singh, 36, of Surrey, British Columbia. The impact caused the truck to jackknife across the interstate, colliding with a Jeep Grand Cherokee driven by Jeff Peterson, 63, of Keizer.

A nearby Toyota Matrix, driven by Ashley Peugh, 34, of Murphy, Idaho, was struck by debris while trying to avoid the wreckage.

Fuentes was transported to a nearby hospital, where he later died from his injuries. Singh and Peterson were not hurt, while Peugh sustained minor injuries. No arrests were reported in connection with the accident.

Traffic on I-5 was delayed for approximately four hours while emergency crews and investigators worked at the scene. Responding agencies included Woodburn Fire and EMS, Hubbard Fire, and the Oregon Department of Transportation.

The cause of the Marion County crash remains under active investigation by the Oregon State Police.
