
Yuba City, CA.- A 94-year-old man was seriously hurt in a collision with a semi-truck on Highway 99 in Yuba City on Tuesday morning.
According to the Yuba City Police Department, the wreck happened on Highway 99 and Highway 20 at about 10:20 a.m. on December 2, 2025.
The police reported that a 35-year-old man was driving the big rig northbound on Highway 99 when a Buick Verano failed to stop for a red light and made a left turn onto eastbound Highway 20. The big rig driver tried to brake but crashed into the Buick.
The driver of the Buick, a 94-year-old, was taken to Adventist Rideout Hospital for treatment of major injuries. The operator of the big rig was not hurt.
Alcohol and drugs were not suspected to have played a role in the incident, the authorities reported. An investigation to determine the cause of the accident is ongoing.
