Yucca Valley, CA. – An 81-year-old woman in an electric wheelchair was struck and killed by a vehicle Thursday evening in Yucca Valley, according to the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department.
The crash was reported around 5:50 p.m. near Yucca Trail and Frontera Avenue, officials said.
Investigators determined that the woman was attempting to cross the roadway when she was hit by an eastbound pickup truck on Yucca Trail.
The impact pushed her approximately 15 feet east before the vehicle came to a stop.
The victim was pronounced dead on the scene.
The driver cooperated with the investigators.
The SBCSD – Morongo Basin Station is handling the incident.
