Newberry Springs, CA.- The driver who was killed in a rollover crash in Newberry Springs earlier this month has been identified.
Darwin Gene Smith, 66, of Bullhead City, Arizona, died in the incident that took place at about 12:10 p.m. September 13, on Interstate 40 near the Hector Road exit.
According to the California Highway Patrol, Smith was driving a white Dodge pickup truck west on I-40 when he swerved off the roadway and the truck rolled over multiple times.
Smith was ejected from the truck, which came to a rest upside-down in a ravine.
He was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The California Highway Patrol is investigating the crash.
