Westminster, CA – One suffered major injuries in a two-vehicle wreck on Interstate 405 in Westminster on Sunday afternoon, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The collision occurred on the southbound 405 Freeway, just north of Magnolia Street at approximately 4:56 p.m. on May 10.
A preliminary investigation indicated that a Tesla Cybertruck and a red Nissan sedan were involved in the collision. The red Nissan was facing the wrong direction on the right shoulder.
According to the CHP, one person sustained major injuries and was transported to UC Irvine Medical Center for treatment. Good Samaritans reportedly attempted to help occupants from damaged vehicles before emergency crews arrived. No arrests were reported.
The circumstances surrounding the collision were not immediately clear, but the CHP noted that possible Tesla dashcam footage of the crash may be available.
CHP officers and emergency responders arrived at the scene and coordinated medical aid and towing operations.
The crash caused major traffic disruptions on the southbound 405 Freeway, prompting a SigAlert for lanes 2 through 5 for approximately 30 minutes while crews worked to clear the roadway.
The California Highway Patrol continues to investigate the collision.
