Palmdale, CA. – The Los Angeles County Office of Medical Examiner has identified the man who died after being hit by a bus on a freeway in Palmdale as 21-year-old Danny Montoya.
The man, a resident of Albuquerque, New Mexico, was struck by the bus around 4:35 a.m. on September 27 on the northbound Antelope Valley (14) Freeway.
Montoya had been driving a 2020 Tesla Model 3 when he crashed. He exited the vehicle and was standing in the far right lane of the freeway, south of Palmdale Boulevard, when a passing 2008 MCI J-Series Motorcoach hit him.
Montoya was pronounced dead at the scene.
The bus driver was identified as a 58-year-old Panorama City man.

Palmdale, CA – A man in his 20s was hit and killed by a bus early Saturday morning in Palmdale, according to the CHP.
The deadly accident occurred around 4:35 a.m. on September 29 on the northbound Antelope Valley (14) Freeway south of Palmdale Boulevard.
CHP said the man from Albuquerque, New Mexico, had been driving a 2020 Tesla Model 3 when he was involved in a collision and he got out of his car. He was standing in the far-right northbound lane of the freeway when he was struck by a 2008 MCI J-Series Motorcoach driven by a 58-year-old Panorama City man.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene.
It was unclear if the other driver, who was involved in the initial collision, remained at the scene.
