Palmdale, CA. – A 38-year-old woman who was killed in a hit-and-run crash early Saturday morning in Palmdale has been identified as Jeanette Garcia, authorities reported.
The deadly collision occurred around 4:13 a.m. in the area of 20th Street East and Avenue S, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department's Palmdale Station.
Investigators said the driver of a light blue 2003 Mercury Grand Marquis was traveling westbound on Avenue S.
The vehicle struck Garcia, who was pushing a shopping cart across the street.
The driver continued without stopping.
Paramedics responded and pronounced Garcia dead at the scene.
Deputies later located the Grand Marquis and its driver at a residence in Palmdale.
The suspect was arrested on multiple felony charges, and the vehicle was impounded for evidence.
