Huntington Beach, CA – One cyclist was killed and two others were seriously injured Monday morning in a hit-and-run accident in Huntington Beach, according to the police.

The deadly accident happened just after 6:45 a.m. on October 20 in the area of Pacific Coast Highway and Newland Street.

Investigators said three bicyclists were in the bike lane along PCH when they were struck by a 2006 Mercedes E-Class car operated by a 43-year-old Long Beach woman

The woman fled the scene for about half a mile before stopping.

One of the bicyclists was pronounced dead at the scene. The name of the deceased rider was not immediately released. The other two were taken to the hospital with major injuries.

The woman was arrested on suspicion of hit-and-run, gross vehicular manslaughter and possession of narcotics.

The police are investigating the accident.
