Corona, CA – An investigation is underway after a pedestrian was hit and killed by a vehicle in Corona on Thursday evening.
According to a report by the Corona Police Department, the accident took place in the 2600 block of South Main Street.
A preliminary investigation shows that a pedestrian was trying to walk across South Main Street outside of a marked crosswalk when she was struck by a northbound vehicle.
Corona police found the pedestrian with major injuries at the scene. The victim was rushed to a hospital, where she was declared deceased.
The report did not indicate the victim’s age and name. The driver was at the scene when authorities arrived and cooperated with the investigators.
Police said alcohol and drugs were not suspected to have factored in the accident.
