Bakersfield, California (August 18, 2022) – Christina Collins, 19, of Bakersfield, was injured in a fatal two-vehicle crash that took place on Monday morning in Bakersfield, according to a local news source.

The crash occurred at about 7:24 a.m. August 15, on Highway 119 near Buena Vista Road.

According to authorities, a Ford pickup truck was traveling south on Buena Vista Rod when it stopped at the intersection of Highway 119. 

The driver then tried to make an eastbound turn and was struck on its side by a Peterbilt truck pulling a trailer.

The driver of the Ford died at the scene, while Collins, who was a passenger in the Ford, was treated for moderate injuries.

Further details about the accident were not immediately provided.

Authorities are working to determine the cause of the collision.

Bakersfield, California (August 15, 2022) – One person was killed in a two-vehicle collision that happened on Monday morning in Bakersfield.

The California Highway Patrol said the accident happened on Highway 119 near Buena Vista Road at around 7:24 a.m.

A Ford pickup truck and a semi-truck were involved in the collision. The manner in which the accident happened, however, was not immediately established.

One of the vehicles reportedly drifted off the roadway after the collision and crashed into a power pole.

Officials say one person was killed in the accident.

The identity of the deceased person was not immediately disclosed.
