Chino, CA – The 21-year-old rider who was killed in a motorcycle crash on 60 Freeway in Chino early Monday morning has been identified.
The rider was identified by family on a GoFundMe page as Jared Payne.
Payne died following a collision involving a motorcycle and a vehicle. The deadly incident happened at about 5:55 a.m. on September 21, 2026, on westbound SR-60 near Mountain Avenue.
Payne was pronounced dead at the scene.

Chino, CA – A motorcyclist was killed Monday morning after a traffic collision on the westbound 60 Freeway in Chino, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The crash occurred at about 5:55 a.m. on September 21, 2026, on westbound SR-60 near Mountain Avenue.
The San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Office identified the motorcyclist only as a 21-year-old male resident of Hesperia. The rider’s name was withheld pending identification.
CHP logs indicated that the motorcycle rider was found down in the freeway lanes following a collision involving a red vehicle, two additional vehicles, and the motorcycle. The rider was pronounced dead at the scene.
The collision blocked the HOV lanes and the first and second lanes of the westbound freeway. The westbound side remained closed between Mountain Avenue and Central Avenue for several hours.
Authorities have not released details about what led to the motorcycle being struck.
The California Highway Patrol is investigating the fatal crash.
