Chelan County, WA – A 27-year-old man from Mexico was killed and five others were injured in a three-vehicle crash near Cashmere Tuesday afternoon, according to the Washington State Patrol.
The crash occurred at approximately 4:22 p.m. Tuesday, September 1, 2026, on Highway 2 west of Cashmere.
According to WSP, a Jeep was traveling eastbound on Highway 2. Ahead of it was a pickup truck that had stopped as its driver prepared to turn left into a private driveway. The Jeep struck the rear of the stopped pickup. The impact caused the Jeep to roll into the westbound lanes, where it was struck by a third vehicle.
A passenger in the pickup truck, identified as Alejo Garcia, 27, of Mexico, died at the scene. Pickup driver Pablo Moralez, 53, and four other passengers were transported to Central Washington Hospital for treatment of injuries.
The Jeep driver, identified as Patrick Marshall, 74, of Wenatchee, was also hospitalized with injuries. The driver of the third vehicle, Robert Driscoll, 52, of Leavenworth, was not injured. Charges against the causing driver are pending.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
