Chatsworth, CA – Authorities are investigating a serious injury accident that happened early Saturday morning at an intersection in Chatsworth.
The collision, which left one person hospitalized, occurred around 1 a.m. on September 19, 2026, at Topanga Canyon Boulevard and Nordhoff Street, the Los Angeles Police Department reported.
LAPD said two vehicles, possibly a sedan and an SUV, collided in the area for reasons still under investigation.
One person was sent to the hospital with critical injuries.
One of the drivers was not injured and underwent a sobriety test at the scene.
The intersection remained closed as of 4:30 for investigation.
The crash also affected Metro bus service, forcing southbound and northbound buses to reroute from Topanga Boulevard and Gresham Street.
The crash happened just five days after two other deadly collisions – one involving a Metro bus and the other involving a news helicopter – left five people dead and multiple others injured.
