According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident occurred at around 7:30 p.m. on February 13 at Otay Lakes Road and La Media Road.
Chula Vista, CA – The San Diego County Coroner’s Office has identified a motorcyclist killed in a crash at an intersection in Chula Vista last week Thursday evening as 61-year-old Carlos Galindo of Chula Vista.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident occurred at around 7:30 p.m. on February 13 at Otay Lakes Road and La Media Road.
A preliminary investigation revealed Galindo was driving a Suzuki motorcycle eastbound through the intersection while a Hyundai sedan traveling northbound on La Media Road was just south of the intersection.
The Hyundai and motorcycle collided when both vehicles entered the roadway and the Hyundai initiated a right turn maneuver crossing the motorcycle’s path.
Galindo was transported by paramedics to the Scripps Mercy Hospital Emergency Department, where he later died.
The incident remains under investigation.
