The Riverside County Sheriff's deputies spotted the driver of a Ford Mustang traveling the wrong way on Seminole Drive and suspected the driver was driving under the influence

Cabazon, CA.- The woman who was killed in a collision involving a suspect being pursued by sheriff's deputies in Cabazon on Thursday night has been identified as Carlie Membrino, 23, of Banning, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The incident took place on Seminole Drive at Malki Road at around 9:35 p.m. October 10.
The Riverside County Sheriff's deputies spotted the driver of a Ford Mustang traveling the wrong way on Seminole Drive and suspected the driver was driving under the influence.
The deputies attempted to stop the driver but the driver fled the area and deputies started a chase.
The suspect, who was traveling at a high rate of speed on westbound Seminole Drive, failed to stop at the intersection of Malki Road and slammed into the back of a Nissan Versa that was stopped to make a southbound turn onto Malki Road.
The Mustang then slid and crashed into a business, causing a fire in the building.
The driver of the Nissan, identified as Membrino, was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The other driver was taken to Desert Regional Medical Center in Palm Springs with serious injuries.
An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
