Salem, OR.- A pedestrian was hit and killed by a vehicle late Thursday night in Salem, according to the Salem Police Department.
The incident took place at about 11:30 p.m. January 26, near Lancaster Drive NE and Sunnyview Road.
According to police, Brian Devin Coulson, 55, of Salem, was hit by a vehicle on Lancaster Drive NE and was dragged several blocks by the driver, who failed to stop at the scene after the crash.
Medics responded to the scene and attempted life-saving measures on Coulson but he sadly succumbed to his injuries at the scene.
Police conducted and investigation into the crash and arrested a suspect early Saturday morning nearly two blocks from the point where the pedestrian was found.
The suspect, identified as Sergio Aguilar, was booked into the Marion County Jail on charges including DUI and second-degree manslaughter.
The incident is under investigation.
