Whatcom County, WA – The Washington State Patrol has identified, 42-year-old Brandon Gipson of Ferndale as a Whatcom County Public Works maintenance worker killed in a crash near an intersection in Bellingham Tuesday morning.
The wreck happened at around 9 a.m. near East Smith and Noon Roads.
A construction vehicle, driven by a 64-year-old man, was backing down the right shoulder of eastbound Smith Road in a construction zone when it struck Gipson, who was walking westbound on the same shoulder.
Gipson was declared deceased at the scene.
