Preliminary reports indicate that a white Dodge pickup truck was pulling a utility trailer southbound on Highway 99 when it drifted onto the west shoulder and slammed into a parked white Freightliner with trailer
Bakersfield, CA – One person was injured in a big rig collision that led to the arrest of a suspected DUI driver in Bakersfield on Monday afternoon.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident took place on Highway 99 and California Avenue at around 3:49 p.m. July 20.
Preliminary reports indicate that a white Dodge pickup truck was pulling a utility trailer southbound on Highway 99 when it drifted onto the west shoulder and slammed into a parked white Freightliner with trailer. The Dodge was pinned underneath the big rig’s trailer and a passenger was trapped inside the car.
Emergency crews responded to the site of the collision and the trapped party was pulled out of the vehicle.
One person was transported to a hospital for treatment of uspecified injuries.
The driver of the Dodge was arrested and booked into the Kern County Jail on suspicion of DUI.
