Auburn, CA – A woman and an infant were transported to a hospital after being involved in an auto-pedestrian collision in the Auburn area on Wednesday afternoon.

According to the Auburn Police Department, authorities responded at around 4 p.m. on Wednesday, January 29, to the collision near High Street and Cleveland Avenue.

The police report indicates that a 60-year-old woman was pushing a stroller with an infant in it when they were hit by a car. The driver was reportedly on a green light turning left onto High Street from Cleveland Avenue when the car hit the victims in the crosswalk.

Medics transported the woman and the infant to a hospital for treatment. The extent of their injuries was not specified in the report.

According to APD, the driver remained at the scene and was cooperative with law enforcement. The driver was traveling within the speed limit and was not suspected of impairment.

Police said the sun may have been a contributing factor in the accident.

Roads were shut down for hour in the area as authorities conducted the investigations. The Auburn police are trying to figure out the cause of the accident.
