San Jose, CA. – At least one person was hospitalized following a multi-vehicle collision in Sacramento on Friday afternoon.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident happened around 2:24 p.m. on 280 Freeway near Winchester Boulevard.
Two vehicles were involved in the accident, but authorities did not immediately determine the events leading up to the accident.
At least one person was injured in the accident and was taken to hospital for treatment.
More details about the accident were not released.
CHP is investigating the cause of the accident.

Alcohol-involved victim counts remained high, rising from 361 in 2022 to 377 in 2023, and motorcycle victims nearly doubled from 36 to 69 over the same period. Pedestrian victim counts stayed relatively stable while bicyclist counts increased. Speed-related collision victims increased from 496 to 642, and hit-and-run victims from 283 to 318 between 2022 and 2023. These trends reflect growing serious crash exposure in San Jose, even as local safety initiatives target high-injury streets.
