Atascadero, CA – A scooter rider was struck and injured by a vehicle on Wednesday evening in Atascadero, the Atascadero Police Department reported.
The accident occurred in the 7100 block of El Camino Real at around 5 p.m. on July 22.
Initial reports indicate that a person was riding on a scooter in the area when he was hit by a driver passing by. The involved driver reportedly fled the area on foot after hitting the scooter rider.
The victim was transported to a hospital for treatment of moderate injuries.
Atascadero police searched the area and located the suspect in the area of Curbail Avenue and San Luis Avenue. The suspect was taken into police custody but specific details on the expected charges were not provided.
