According to the Santa Rosa Police Department, the accident happened around 5:30 p.m. at Sebastopol Road and Stony Point Road.

Santa Rosa, CA – A 46-year-old man was hospitalized with serious injuries after a scooter accident that happened Tuesday afternoon at an intersection in Santa Rosa.

According to the Santa Rosa Police Department, the accident happened around 5:30 p.m. at Sebastopol Road and Stony Point Road.

The man was riding a scooter west on Sebastopol Road when he ran a red light at Stony Point Road and collided with a Toyota sedan whose driver had the right of way. The car was heading south on Stony Point.

The man was taken to a local hospital with severe injuries but is expected to survive.

The car driver stopped and cooperated with investigators.

The intersection remained closed for about an hour following the crash.
