Arcadia, CA – A pedestrian was struck and killed by a vehicle early Thursday morning in Arcadia.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident took place on the Foothill (210) Freeway just west of 5th Avenue at about 12:53 a.m. September 17.
Authorities reported that a pedestrian was hit in the eastbound lanes of the freeway under unclear circumstances.
The CHP and emergency crews arrived shortly after and the pedestrian was declared deceased at the scene. The victim’s identity was not immediately released by the authorities.
The involved driver was at the scene when authorities arrived.
The eastbound lanes of the freeway were shut down for nearly three hours following the accident.
The California Highway Patrol is still working to find out what led up to the deadly crash.
