Concord, CA. — A 55-year-old man was killed Sunday evening after being struck by a vehicle along Monument Boulevard in Concord, authorities reported.

The incident occurred just before 8 p.m. near Reganti Drive, west of Oak Grove Road, according to the Concord Police Department.

Officers arrived to find the victim unresponsive, and medics later pronounced him dead at the scene.

Authorities said the driver remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigation.

Drugs and alcohol are not believed to be factors in the collision.

The victim's name has not been released, and no further details were immediately available.

CPD is investigating the accident.
