South Prairie, WA.- A 41-year-old woman from Covington was killed in an auto-pedestrian crash that occurred in the South Prairie area of Pierce County on Tuesday evening.

According to a Washington State Patrol report, the crash occurred at about 5:18 p.m. November 4, on State Route 162, just west of Lower Burnett Road.

The woman was in the eastbound lane of SR 162 when an eastbound car struck her.

The victim, whose name was not immediately released, died in the crash.

The driver pulled over at the scene and cooperated with investigators.

It’s unclear whether drugs or alcohol played a role in the crash.

The WSP is investigating the accident.
